    Calling all high school artists… Danville Parks and Recreation will be hosting an art contest for all students grades 9-12! Submissions are due by September 9 and all pieces should be based on the theme “I Live To…” Art pieces will then be placed along the Riverwalk Trail and the community is encouraged to talk a walk and view the masterpieces! Pieces will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the winners. Call (434) 799-5150.   4. Coates Summer Camp

    Each week, your child will participate in a variety of activities, games, crafts, physical activitiy and healthy eating. In addition, staff will lead campers on fieldtrips around town as well as two out of town fieldtrips during the summer. Staff provides a safe, fun atmosphere and meets all childcare and healthy eating and physical activity standards to ensure that your child receives the best experience possible. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided as well as USDA lunches. Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and lunch. Ages 5-12. Call (434) 799-5150.

    Beat the heat with some good old fashioned sprinkler jumping with Danville Parks and Recreation's Fun Wagon; also this year, we have Rec Mobile, a traveling Recreation Center coming to a neighborhood near you!
